  • Amy & Joel|Destination Wedding|Mt Princeton

Last month Kammi and I had two destination weddings back to back. We went up to Mt Princeton for Amy & Joel’s amazing fall mountain wedding. What a spectacular backdrop to have a wedding, simply stunning views. The photos really don’t do it justice on how massive the mountains really are.

Joel’s family has had vacation property up there for years. While Joel and Amy were dating, he took Amy up there and taught her how to fly fish. She fell in love with the Mt Princeton area and they thought it would be the perfect place to get married. Kammi and I arrived for the rehearsal and then joined them for the rehearsal dinner at Joel’s family cabin. The property and cabin is a dream retreat to get away from it all. Check out all the amazing details from their rehearsal and wedding.

  • Emily & Aaron|Engagement Session

Emily & Aaron are getting married next July and I can’t wait for their wedding. Had such a great time walking around a Boulder park for their session. The park is basically a huge dog park with a no leash law. While walking around a dog came bolting by me and ran into my camera, breaking my pocket wizard. Poor dog, he looked a little stunned. I wonder if dogs can get concussions, because he slammed into my gear.

  • Lisa & Brad|Destination Wedding|Kansas City

Last month Kammi and I went to Kansas City to photograph a reception. Lisa & Brad’s actual wedding took place in Colorado the week before. It was such an honor to photograph this family again. We actually photographed Lisa’s sisters wedding last year. It’s a huge compliment that they wanted us to photograph another wedding for their family. We had never been to Kansas City before and we both ended up liking it very much. It kinda reminded me of a combination of a smaller Atlanta and a Denver mixed together.

Before the wedding I headed out for a bride and groom session around the heart of the city. We played for about two hours, and then went back to the hotel to get ready for the reception. The reception was held at a brewery that made their favorite beer. The brewery had a rooftop patio that had a great view of the Kansas City skyline.  They catered the reception with their favorite BBQ. Being from the south and a huge love for BBQ, I was in hog heaven. No pun intended. Some of the best BBQ I have ever had. Here are several of my favorites from the day. Check out the grooms cake in this post. It was a replica of a beer chest. The details of the cake were so amazing. Even the beer bottles were made of pure sugar. AMAZING!!!

Everything in the grooms cake below you could eat.

The reception overlooked the plant. I kept on wanting to sing the theme song to Lavern & Shirley. I kept on looking for a glove to go down the line.

  • Sofia turns ONE!!!

Sofia is one of the main reasons I love my job. Kammi and I photographed Jen & John’s wedding back in 2004. They have now started the next chapter in their life by starting a family. They hired us for their maternity session and several sessions during Sofia’s first year.  To create images for them of these huge milestones in their life is a huge blessing for us. We love when we connect with clients and they want us to document their life.  Being a self employed photographer you don’t have an office friendships that last over the years. You have clients that come and go, and lifelong clients that keep on coming back to you. It’s a dream to see these clients over the years. I love photography and creating images for clients, but I really love seeing clients over the years and developing friendships because of what I do. Check out how adorable Sofia is.

  • Kristy & Travis|Engagement Session

For some reason, this blog is not loading all the photos I want to share. It’s on my to do list to switch blogging sites during the offseason. Until then, here is my second post of the day. Kristy and Travis and getting married next year in my favorite town….New Orleans. Both Kammi and I went to FSU which is only six hours aways, so many trips to the Big Easy. Kristy was a guest of a wedding that we did last month. Peggy and Matt you may remember from several posts ago. Matt works with both Kristy and Travis for the Colorado Rockies. For those of you who know me or follow the blog, know that I am a huge baseball fan, more importantly a huge Braves fan.  Kristy  and Travis met working for the Colorado Rockies so it was only fitting that we started our engagement session there. There is something incredible about having a whole stadium to yourselves. It was just us as we walked around the stadium, field, and the homerun fountain. I am in heaven with all of my clients, I have to pinch my self sometimes, to make sure I am not asleep. I can’t believe we are this blessed to do this for a living. Kristy and Travis even brought their National Championship rings which you can see below. These rings are huge, heavy, and a dream to hold one as a fan of baseball. Check out their session photos below. You can see all of the photos that were suppose to be on the blog on my facebook page.
