Photoshop Before and After #1
We just ordered this photo as a huge canvas print for our studio. With the amount of wedding photography and portraits that we do, all of our photos are color corrected and adjusted for proofing. Once it comes to the final prints we open it in Photoshop and tweak it even more. The best thing that I love about Photoshop CS3 is the adjustment layers. You can add and adjust as many layers as you want without making any destructive changes the original file. The before image below was adjusted in Lightroom for proofs. The after image was brought into photoshop where I made several layer adjustments.
First I did a curve adjustment to bring back the detail in the sky, which also brought back alot of the blue and made the clouds really stand out. Since the curve adjustment darkened the whole photo, I had to brush back the flowers and my couple to the original starting point. I made two more layer adjustments one curve adjustment for the flowers, and a saturation boost. Other than that, I cloned out a couple of dust spots and added a vingette, which really deepend the blues on the outside frame. It only took about 3-5 minutes to make these changes. I like my photos to pop, and I like the results of the finished image. What do you think, too much photoshop? Not that I did alot to it. I am by all means no photoshop guru, there are so many things that you can do with photoshop, and its a constant learning process. For great tutorials on Photoshop, go to one of my favorite websites itunes, and type in Photoshop for the video podcasts, and you can find all kinds of great tips.

This is so beautiful
Looks just like a poster.
I love the picture! The blue of the clouds looks a bit unreal, but it doesn’t look overly ps. Great job!
Your photographic ability really shines through with that original image. It is spot-on perfect. I don’t think I would do anything to it. Amazing image!!!
Wow, beautiful you take amazing photos! I have to say that I think that I like the original best though. It is more real, soft, and romantic.
